There is a forthcoming book, written by Ms Anie M. Calleja, entitled “Nilala: Tradisyunal na Industriya at Sining ng mga Kababaihan” (loosely translated it means “Nilala: Traditional Industry and Art of Women”), that delves on the history of weaving in Mauban and Quezon. It is being readied for printing by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. With a recognition from the National Book Development Board for preserving Filipino Culture and Arts.
Ms. Anie is the compleat public servant, and a true servant leader. She has brought Mauban’s tourism industry to where it is now with pure grit, persistence and growth mindset. That tourists who are now lining up at the Mauban port to get to Cagbalete Island, is a testament to how Anie helped shape the landscape of tourism in Mauban. The island is now a must-go-to tourist destination. And through sustainable Tourism, Anie has transformed Mauban into a vibrant community of entrepreneurs.
